Hello, Yellowknife Centre residents! My name is Robert Hawkins, and I am honored to stand as your candidate for the upcoming election. With 12 years of dedicated service as an NWT MLA, I bring a wealth of experience and a passion for positive change to our community. I am committed to easing the burden on our hardworking families. As your representative, I will work tirelessly to stop the 2% Payroll Tax and eliminate unnecessary fees such as Drivers License, Vehicle registrations, Fishing License, and more.
03. INVESTING IN EDUCATION.
I believe in the power of education to transform lives. That’s why I advocate for placing the Polytechnical University in the heart of Yellowknife, near the Legislative Assembly building & Museum, while preserving our natural heritage at Tin Can Hill.
04. RESPECTING OUR SENIORS & ELDERS.
It’s time to create an NWT Seniors & Elders Bill of Rights that demonstrates the respect and dignity our elders deserve.
05. ADDRESSING HOMELESSNESS.
Homelessness is an NWT problem that demands comprehensive solutions. I support establishing support services in all regions, focusing on healing programs that encourage productive choices.
06. URGENT HOUSING SOLUTIONS.
Land needs to be allocated to the City of Yellowknife promptly so that urgent housing can be built. I am dedicated to ensuring every resident has a safe and secure place to call home.
07. ENCOURAGING POPULATION GROWTH.
I recognize that population growth is fundamental to the NWT’s economic future. I will work to create policies that promote growth and prosperity for all.
08. HEALTHCARE AS A RIGHT.
Having a Family Doctor is not a matter of luck; it’s a fundamental right. I will advocate for accessible healthcare services for all our residents.
